Sense and Sensibility is a witty and thoughtful examination of the sacrifices and consequences born from societal pressures, and what can happen when you choose to ignore them. In our design of the production, there was a deep discussion of what it means to be honest in this play's society. The most honest characters - the Dashwoods - are the ones that ultimately find true happiness. In the scenic design, this is represented through wild foliage that permeates the edges of an otherwise very structured and clean environment - foliage that is most often visible in the presence of the Dashwoods.
