Bulrusher

Bulrusher is a woman who begins the play with no one and nothing but herself and her connection to nature. The script revolves around central ideas of family, heritage, and the importance of the relationship between people and their environment. 

In order to further push this exploration, my design team felt this theoretical production had to be site specific - designing the space so the audience is seated on a river, watching the story take place on the lands of an ancient Indian burial ground. Honoring our local history and environment is integral to our production.
